I. Saxophone & Electronics Workshop and Concert led by Patrick Stadler & Hannes Seidl

Premiere of a new work Limbo(2025) for solo saxophonist and live electronics by Doyoon Yoon

This highly experimental piece features innovative, deconstructed and extended saxophone techniques and live electronics in real-time, approaching the instrument from an entirely new perspective.

This experimental work unsettles the way we perceive instruments and sound, evoking unfamiliar yet refreshing sensations and thoughts.

II. Opera and Music Theater Workshop led by Sarah Nemtsov & Hans Thomalla

The workshop will convene two or three times to discuss the projects presented by the selected participants. Additional activities may include conversations with professionals from the field—such as directors, set designers, and librettists as well as discussions of theoretical texts or key works in the genre.

All participants of the Darmstadt Summer Course are welcome to attend, listen, and actively contribute to the conversation, regardless of whether they are presenting.
